Job Description: |
The Surveillance Operator monitors the premises using electronic
surveillance equipment and reports suspicious activities in compliance with
site policies and procedures, internal control procedures and Alberta Gaming
& Liquor Commission (AGLC) terms and conditions.
• Maintain valid AGLC license and pass criminal record check.
• Reports to the Surveillance Supervisor and the Interim Surveillance Manager.
• Completes routine surveillance of the gaming floor identifying potential
problems, such as poor game protection, suspicious individuals, and acting as a
support unit to other departments in relation to the protection of company
assets.
• Strictly adhere to the compliance of all departmental policies and
procedures, AGLC and internal control policies.
• Maintains accurate logs of all procedure violations or completing reviews of
all material that is pertinent to site operations.
• Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer
service and respect to all patrons, employees and AGLC personnel
• Provide evidence in legal matters that have resulted from criminal charges
against patrons or employees.
• Maintain awareness of gaming operation at all times and comply with security
policies and procedures in order to secure company assets.
• Additional duties, which are consistent with the position summary, may be
assigned.

Education Required: |
• High school diploma or equivalent working experience.
• Previous experience in surveillance, or IT related work.
• Knowledge of and experience in operating CCTV equipment
• Table Games experience is required.

Skills Requirements: |
• Must have excellent attention to detail with ability to gather
knowledge of all operating departments, policies and procedures. Must possess
excellent observational and communication skills. Must be able to detect
schemes or cheating activity aimed at the casino or its guests.
• Knowledge of and experience with closed circuit television equipment.
• Possesses detailed knowledge of casino table games, slots, poker policies,
cash/slot cage, and count room policies and procedures.
• Good customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and
effectively to verbalize incidents and daily happenings along with strong
reading and writing skills for detailed and accurate reporting purposes
• Good memory is essential with the ability to respond appropriately and in a
timely manner in emergency situations.
• Shift work required as well as the ability to sit for long periods of time in
a small semi-lit environment.
• Must have knowledge of the requirements set out in the Proceeds of Crime
(Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and Regulations and Policies
made there under by Canada and FINTRAC
