Under the direction of the Front of the House Manager, Front of House
Assistant Manager, Shift Supervisor or Dual Shift Supervisor, the Porter is
responsible for assisting service staff in maintaining the restaurant and bar
areas. Emphasis must be placed on exceptional customer service, as the Porter
will be dealing directly with customers. The Porter is responsible for adhering
to all policies and procedures, and to take all necessary precautions to ensure
the safety and health of guests and ensuring all safe work practices within the
Casino at all times. This position may require lifting weight of up to
approximately 50 lbs. The Porter must be aware of and be willing to work in a
smoking environment.
Please note: Must be available for shift work (days, evenings, nights, weekends
and holidays). Also, must have reliable transportation as night shift is
outside of Calgary transit hours of service.
•Provide excellent guest service consistent with Company's core service
standards and brand attributes.
•Assist the Servers in setting and resetting the tables during service periods
that are busy.
•Stock and re-stock stations with dry goods, glassware, dinnerware and
silverware.
•Fill and replenish ice tubs (in buffet, blaze and stage bar). Clean and wipe
down at the end of the day.
•Monitor, maintain cleanliness and sanitation of blaze restaurant, buffet, and
buffet serving stations.
•Assist the bartenders with stocking alcohol and beer. Bring clean glassware to
the bar areas.
•Assisting the servers and bartenders in areas when and where required.
•Develop and maintain positive relationships with all guests, food and beverage
staff and other casino departmental staff. Communicate any issues or needs of
guests appropriately to management or co-worker(s).
•Must always report to work on time and in a clean uniform.
•Must maintain proper hygiene and grooming at all times.
•Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies,
procedures, and standards.
•Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
•Attend meetings and training programs when required.
